The 2016 "Girl Up Gender Equity and Global Goals Conference” (June 11th)...
is open to any and all San Diego high schoolers (and Girl Up supporters of all ages!). Come join us for a fun half day full of speakers, new people, and inspiration! We will focus on two topics: Women's Rights and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. Each participant will attend two separate sessions focused on these topics, and connect with a number of different speakers throughout the day. The conference will educate, inspire, and connect you to fellow youth leaders and knowledgeable experts working towards advocacy and democracy. We hope to bring students the tools and connections they need to become advocates in the subject areas they are most interested.
Conference Hosts:
Girl Up is an adolescent girl campaign launched by the United Nations Foundation that supports programs that give girls an equal chance for education, health, social and economic opportunities, and a life free from violence.
WorldLink is a program of the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice that provides opportunities for youth from San Diego and Baja Mexico to meet world leaders and experts, and engage in thoughtful discussions about solutions in a forum where their voices are heard and valued.
